The "DNS Client" cache does not appear to be caching DNS_TYPE_TEXT query results which results in increased network traffic due to the same queries going out on the wire again and again (each time the query is performed). Both VISTA and XP seem to have this bug. It should be noted that the cache is working properly for DNS_TYPE_A, DNS_TYPE_PTR, and DNS_TYPE_MX queries.
