DNS Errors
Everything in 7 works fine, until I want to get online. It's hit and miss for the first couple of hours, I actually learned that if I opened IE and connected to both my Linksys/DD-WRT router and my 2Wire modem I could stay online without interruption, but as soon as I close those pages I'm offline again. Eventually that stopped working.I keep getting DNS errors, it tells me to contact the network administrator, I can't find any error codes so this is going to be harder than it should be. No amount of settings tweaks or driver changes have allowed me to stay online.Any ideas?

I have the same problem. I also have a 2Wire modem and a Linksys modified with DD-WRT. Haven't check if I can navigate while the routers pages are open. Did a reinstall of the whole system so am trying later today.Do you have your Linksys as an bridged access point?HTC Touch User/ Palm OS Lover

My Linksys is in Client Bridge mode for my Xbox 360. I've never had problems before. I've tried setting my IP and DNS manually, even tried OpenDNS, nothing works and it always goes right back to a DNS error, it says it's either not configured properly or doesn't exist. I haven't made any changes to my Linksys or 2Wire since it's been setup.Having the configuration pages is only a temporary fix, and may have been purely coincidental.

Anybody have any ideas? As far as my system goes it's custom built, Windows 7 is on a second partition dual booting, 7 currently has no firewall or antivirus.

Do you know if your ISP uses IPV6? If not Turn of IPV6 support in the Networking adapter settings.I have had to do this to 2 machines now to stop DNS errors. Try that and see how you get on
