DNS Client Service requiring a reset after disconnecting from a wired connection and failing over to wireless connection.
Shorten the lease time for your IP on your wired (LAN) connection to 1 h or so.

My laptop is set up so that it is connected to a wired and wireless connection when docked so that when I undock it automatically fails over to the wireless connection. The wired and wireless are in different sub-nets. This worked fine until about 2 months ago when it started having issues. The wireless seems to stay connected properly and I can ping IP address, however domain names no longer resolve. If I let the machine sit or about 15 minutes or do a troubleshoot it figured itself out but that is really a pain when you are going to meeting and have to wait for the machine to fix itself every time. After a bunch of troubleshooting I figured out that if I restarted the DNS Client service on the machine it immediately started working again. My question is has anybody else come across this problem and if so is there a way to force the DNS Client to refresh automatically when the primary network connection goes away? Thanks -Josh
