DLink DIR600 randomly stops responding only in Win7
Hi there, Currently I have 4 computers and a PS3 on the same network. 3 of those computers are running on WinXP and everything is fine, but past week I bought a new one and now I'm pulling my hair off with this one computer because it keeps losing connection with the router (I'm using win7 in this one). I don't know why, but randomly (and it happens pretty often, like 2-3 times each hour) my router stops responding for this machine only and I have to reboot the pc to be able to reach the router again. I have tried everything I know, like updating the router firmware, disable ipv6 (uncheck box on networkadpter settings), task offload, disable WAP/WEP encrypt, disable power management options for the network adapter, setting all ips manually... nothing worked so far. Every time this drop happens a new warning event is generated in the event viewer with one of the following output: "Name resolution for the name dns.msftncsi.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded." "Name resolution for the name teredo.ipv6.microsoft.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded." Thanks in advance and sorry for the english.

Hi, after checking the issue, it seems the DNS resolution problem, please check the following items: 1 If the issue appears, run the following commands to see if it works: Ipconfig /renew 2 Register dns via command: ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /registerdns 3 Manually configure the TCP/IP settings, navigate a static DNS IP address which is the IP address of the router. 4 Check the hosts file. If the issue persists, please collect the ipconfig /all network information and share with us.
