DISM /online /cleanup-image /restoreheath FAILS
i have been having issues with corrupt files on my windows 8 and i do not want to reinstall my entire OS at the moment, ive done many sfc scans and tried the Dism scan but it continues to fail so ive downloaded an ISO from microsoft for my version of windows 8.1 and i also have refresh/reset media i have created from the microsoft site as well. How can i use this with the Dism tool to repair/replace my corrupted files?

You need to mount the ISO and use this format

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:X:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess  Where "X" is the drive letter where the ISO is located.  Simply change the "X" to the correct drive letter

Your link will not load.  It may be too large, or corrupt.  Try it again.  What was the results of DISM with sources?

Unfortunately this error code only shows the computer cannot download the required files from Windows Update.

Make sure you have internet connection when running this command.

Copy the following code and right click paste it into Command Prompt then see what happens.

net stop wuauserv

cd %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution

ren Download Download.old

net start wuauserv

net stop bits

net start bits

net stop cryptsvc

cd %systemroot%\system32

ren catroot2 catroot2old

net start cryptsvc

Hi,

I found the errors when you running the DISM from WIM, it says The source files could not be found; their location must be specified using the /source option. Please check the install.WIM location then retry that command. You also could copy then WIM file to local drive and give the right path to command.

Make sure your image is not cloned from another hard disk by using clone software, some clone image could cause these errors and it might cannot be fixed.

If this issue still persists, using system file checker to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833/

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.

To view the detail information about the system file scan and restoration, Check the How to view details of the System File Checker process prgraph.
