DISABLING SOUNDS
HI DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO DISABLE THE COMPUTERSOUNDS ON VISTA BIS BUT KEEP THE SPEECH RECOGNITION ACTIVE?I OPENED THE SPEAKER ICON AND THE SOUND CARD LINKS ALL THE SOUNDS disable on thing the whole sound system shuts down including mic=PREFFER A SILENT COMPUTER WITH SPEECH RECOGNITION CAPABILITIES=ANYTHING THANKSJULIANmton@rocketmail.com

Have you tried just turning the volume settings all the way down?

You can go to Start>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>Sounds tab and you can disable all the individual sounds that you want. Just highligh which sound or sounds that you want to disable.
