DHCP, DNS and IP Helper services are not starting
When the computer boot, the services DHCP, DNS and IP Helper are not starting the error is about tdx service missing, "netio legacy tdi support driver" is missing I tried copying tdx.sys and tdx service registry from a similar computer, but when trying to start the tdx service: net start tdx System error 1058 has occured. The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. When I go to the device manager, and "show hidden devices", "NetIO Legacy TDI" is not under Non-Plug and Play Drivers When starting DHCP services net start dhcp System error 1068 has occurred. The dependecy service or group failed to start. From the System Log: The DHCP Client service depends on the NetIO Legacy TDI Support Driver service which failed to start because of the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. How can I fix this? tried sfc /scannow no recovery point available.

Hi, Have you tried performing a hard drive scan to check for file corruption? Also as it may be an application issue you might try checking the system and application logs. To do so, right click 'My Computer' and select 'Manage' within the computer management window select the 'Event Viewer' > 'Windows Logs' options to view these. If you see any errors that might be linked it could lead you to the application that is causing the problem (if applicable). Hope this helps, CathalCathal O'Brien BSc, PgDip, PhD . Ensure that all the components/services the IP Helper, DNS Client and the DHCP Client depend are all started and working. Refer screenshot: Alternatively, also turn off IPv6 if it is not required and try again. Revert back here if this does not resolve the issue. This may not help the OP, but I wanted to share because we had the same thing happen and were able to resolve it. We had this happen on two identical Acer machines running Windows 7 following automatic windows updates. The original event log error stated that NetIO Legacy TDI Support Driver failed to start because a device was not functioning properly. We were able to correct the problem by going to Device Manager -> View -> Show hidden devices -> Non Plug and Play devices and uninstalling the NetIO Legacy TDI Support Driver. For us, it did appear in the list but was disabled. We tried to simply enable it, but it said Windows could not enable it. So we tried uninstalling it and restarting the computer. Everything was back to normal. Hunter

Thanks, I had the same issue with the "Ancillary Function Driver for Winsock" and uninstalling it and rebooting as per your method solved it. Cheers, Roger

Just wanted to say thanks for this post. After trying a lot of other solutions (winsock reset, tcpip reset, registry edits etc etc) this one worked a treat.
