Hi there, If you want to map a DFS root on Windows 7 client, you may need to verify that the logon user has previlege to access all the DFS root servers because when you map to it, the client will enumerate all the DFS root server. Please check share folder and security permission on all the root target of the DFS root servers. Hope it helps. Hi, The issue also can be caused by connection. Please check if you can access the DFS root through \\IP_Address\share or \\computername\share. Hi, Which way you mapped the drive? When you received the error message? Mapping the drive or accessing the drive? I suggest mapping the drive manually to check the result. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Create-a-shortcut-to-map-a-network-drive If the issue persists, please check if the following command work. net use Z: \\computername\DFS_share /user:[username] password /persistent:yes Best Regards, NikiPlease remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, I tried mapping DFS root both GUI and Command mode it gives error as access denied in GUI and system errror 5 has occured and access denied in command mode . this is only with windows 7 OS This is what worked for me: Create a shortcut to the root of the DFS share you are trying to map to. I created my shortcut right on the desktop. Right click that shortcut, select Map network drive. Select your driver letter, check always connect, then hit OK. Should map it!
