DFS Folders show as offline in vista
Hi, I'm having real issues with folder redirection on my vista laptops. I have a DFS-R environment which I am using with folder redirection to access 'My documents' folders for vista clients. I've forced vista not to make these folders available offline as the machines are always network connected via wireless and I don't want to manage sync issues and different file versions etc. My vista machines are regularly loosing connection to these shares. They are shown as offline in explorer even when the network shares are available and on the network (I can connect to them from different machines) Vista refuses to recognise them as online without me right clicking the folder and checking status of the DFS folders or in some instances physically rebooting the machine. I've seen this in a number of environments and cant find a common route cause. Anyone else seen this? Can I just stop vista from every checking whether these folders are online/offline?
