DFS Folder Link Permissions
Hi, We've been using DFS namespaces (and DFSR) for quite a while and all has been working fine, but I've just logged on as a new user account to a new PC and found that they can't access one of the folder links under our main DFS namespace (lets call this folder link ProblemFolder), even though Authenticated Users has read access at both share level and NTFS permissions level. It is definitely an issue with the DFS side of things because I can go directly to the UNC path that this folder link actually links to and the user can get in fine. The strange thing is that the user can get into other folder links under the same DFS namespace without a problem, and they are setup pretty much the same in terms of permissions. I've checked the permissions on the \\mydomain.local\DfsRoot\ProblemFolder and also on C:\DfsRoots\DfsRoot\ProblemFolder on the file server and all looks fine, authenticated users have read & execute permissions. I also checked the share permissions from within the DFS management console on both the DfsRoot namespace and the ProblemFolder link and Everyone has Read permissions. I can get into the folder fine as my domain admin account, and other non-admin users are using it without a problem... so where else can I look for permissions that would affect the DFS link?
