DESKTOP SYSTEM CLOCK - TIME OCCASIONALLY WRONG AT SYSTEM STARTUP

Hi there

I was just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with the WINDOWS 8.1 system clock?

Since making the upgrade from WINDOWS 8 to 8.1, I've had issues where the time displayed on system clock is wrong at System Startup.

This only seems to happen occasionally - I leave the system off overnight, switch this on in the morning - and the time will be wrong on the WINDOWS 8 start screen (It's normally out by around 3-4hrs - ie I normally power up around 0700, and the clock will show a time of around 0400)

I log in to my account, and force a manual sync with the time.windows.com server - this adjusts my time - and it will be okay for the rest of the day. As I say, the issue seems to happen when the system is left off overnight (For around 8hr or thereabouts) - so I am wondering if this is indeed something to do with WINDOWS 8.1, or there's another cause to this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for reading this.

Regards

Alex

Hi,

According to your description, this issue probably caused by driver problem. Please try to upgrade your BIOS and motherboard driver to be latest for test.

Be warned: Flashing BIOS is a risky process.  If power is interrupted during the update your machine will be rendered unusable.

In addition, How about after you shutdown computer and leave it alone for a long time? Did this problem would occurred?

I have the same problem with the system clock. It only started after I upgraded from Windows 8.0 to 8.1.  The device is an Asus Vivotab Smart tablet.  My BIOS and all drivers are up to date.
