DCP_Watchdog_Violation

Hey all. Just built a new comp and at first put Win 7 on it but now want to use Win 8 RTM. It ran fine with 7, no issue at all. Now trying to do a clean install of Win 8 it blue screens and gives me the Watchdog error before it installs.

System info:

Intel BOXDZGA70K LGA 1155 Z77 Motherboard

Quad-Core i7 Ivy Bridge 3.5GHz

AMD FirePro V4900 Video Card

180GB SSD SATA III

1TB HHD SATA

32GB DDR3 SDRAM

I can provide more system info if needed. The only thing I can think of is a driver issue. If that is the case should I reinstall 7 and do an upgrade install to 8 instead?

Thanks in advance!

Well went the upgrade route and it worked. It's not the way I would have liked or expected. If I didn't have Windows 7 I would still be stuck. Clean install worked for other machines so I would still appreciate any thoughts on this.

Just a wild guess here, but what happens if you have only one drive connected?

I've had problems installing Windows on systems with multiple SATA drives ever since Windows started supporting SATA.
