Hi all,

I want to setup DirectAccess, and followed the instructions in the PDF Microsoft DirectAccess Best Practices and Troubleshooting, but when I want to start the Remote Access Setup, the prerequisites are failing.

Somehow the wizard is looking for the domain via the external NIC (without DNS Servers). The binding order is alright. First the Internal NIC and after that the External NIC.

When I fill in the DNS servers on the external nic then the wizard goes further.

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this?

Hi,

Depend of the firewall profile for external NIC. If you can reach any domain controller using the external NIC, interface will be considered as domain. This card must be private/Public.
