Customizing individual app tile colors
Microsoft dudes (and dudettes), this is the era of customization: everything is tailor-made for the consumer, the customer and the user.

You, yourself, have helped popularize this: Customize this menu, personalize that screen and modify these other icons to suit your (the consumer's/customers/users) needs, choices and tastes has been one of the main selling-points of your operating systems over the decades, right?

Then why (oh why!) have you not included a simple method (one that does not involve using a hex editor) to personalize and/or customize the the colors of the individual app tiles that appear on the Windows 8.1 Start screen?

I dont have a lot of apps, but those that I do (regular software mostly) now howl at me in unbearable shades of colors that are (as one user on a different Windows 8 forum wrote) as horrifying to look at as they are difficult to spell: colors like chartreuse, gamboge, malachite, fuchsia, fallow, caput mortuum and such like...

I, like a lot of other users, would like to color-code these apps/app tiles into groups according to their functions. Surely, this is not too severe a demand, yes?

So be kind and please add a menu item in your Windows 8.1 Start customization bar (that appears when one right-clicks on an app tile) that allows the user to Change tile color using a simple color palette, okay?

Thanks

Hi,

Your feedbacks about adding a menu item in Windows 8.1 Start customization bar to enable changing colors for individual tile is very important. Hope Microsoft will provide such feature in the further released.

If you have some tech background, currently, you can try following steps to customize Start screen tiles color:

Thanks for your understanding.

Editing all that XML will be a tiresome process. Itll have to be an official Microsoft fix for me. Thanks.

I want to add my opinion about this -

Why (oh why!) have you not included a simple method to personalize and/or customize the the colors of the individual app tiles that appear on the Windows 8.1 Start screen?

I believe Windows 8 had colors to match background.....so it seems possible.  Why should the user have to go thu the hoops of XML to achieve a simple personalization.  Come on Microsoft - include it in the next update, please.
