The cursor as in the little "Curser line" when you type? Or are we talking about the arrow that the mouse controls? If it is the curson line, when typing that is lag, and there not much to do about it except elevate that programs priority by going to task manager, click the processes tab, find the program you are using right click it, roll over set priotrity, and set the priority to the desired amount, (Warning, using this method will cause any OTHER programs running to become secondary to this one, and therefore be slower.)If if is your mouse try editing your pointer setting in control panel, and set it to faster, or slower. If that doesn't work, I'd say go out and buy a new mouse, they are relitively cheap and easy to find.Young and Learning... Have Mercy

Not enough information provided to get focused help. Do not change the priority of applications/processes as suggested by the other poster. Instead, post back here with all the missing details per:Help us help you:http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Tech_Support - See "How to Write a Post" sectionhttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/555375 - How to Ask a QuestionMS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

Thanks for responding. The cursor stops. Actually everything stops. If there is any activity like something loading or a a clock running, it stops and after several seconds, it starts up again.

I'm sorry but I guess I wasn't clear enough. Please look at the links I already gave you regarding what information to include in your post so we can give you focused help. You still have told us nothing about your computer or the answers to:The First Question Of Troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?Be sure the computer is clean:http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_MalwareStart there and post back with results - and details about your computer per the "Help us help you" links - for further help.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

If there is any activity like something loading or a a clock running, it stops and after several seconds, it starts up again.OH, so basically your entire computer freezes. This most likely (This MAY or MAY NOT be the case) means you are either running too many programs and/or processes at once, and this causes your CPU usage to max out, causing system lag, "Freezing" your screen. OR. This means that a couple or one of your programs is hogging all the usage. Causing the system "Freeze"What kind processor are you running? How much RAM is installed? How long ago did this start? What are you doing when this starts? We need more data, to completely understand the problem and help you.Beacause all we know at the moment is that you; recive no error messages, haven't made any recent changes in your computer and that your computer freezes.Young and Learning... Too many is never an issue. What is runningcould very likely be an issue. There could easily be a single programthat uses the CPU (and other resources) more than 25 small simpleprograms.Ken Blake

I'm sorry, yet again, I leave out important details, in my post.... what I meant by saying:"OH, so basically your entire computer freezes. This most likely (This MAY or MAY NOT be the case) means you are either running too many programs and/or processes at once, and this causes your CPU usage to max out, causing system lag,"Was that you running too many processes or programs that take large amounts of memory.Young and Learning...
