Cross on bottom right corner of App Tiles

I have installed Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 on a tablet. Joined it to the domain.

Installed all the apps with my domain account, launched fine, tried to access Windows Store worked without any issues.

Restarted the tablet and asked another User to login with his domain account, he is able to login without any issues. However, all the Microsoft app tiles show a cross symbol.

Tried to add him in the local admin group but crosses didn't disappear.

Please help.

Hi,

Did you use roaming profile?

These Windows store apps are per user and not appear in other user account and standard user with MS account to install it.

The screenshot of your post seems all built-in apps. It should be the user profile issue.

I would like to suggest you follow this guide to fix this user profile.

Thanks for your reply. We do not use roaming profile in our environment.

I have asked three different Users to login to this tablet and all of them get the same icons, everything else works fine. This is there first login on the tablet how can the profile be corrupted during the first logon itself. Please help.

Hi,

Did you mean only the firstly domain account appear the correct icon?

How about the local administrator account and removing from domain?

If the issue still appear after removing from domain and logon with local account, I suggest you refresh your installation as the following guide:

I have fixed it.

I noticed the Applocker errors in Event viewer and then created the App packages rule in App GPO, worked fine.
