Criteria Based Routing

We have a requirement to send emails with a particular header back into our organisation. I understand I can do this by turning on criteria based routing on the outbound connector then create a rule which looks for this header and send it to the connector.

What happens to all other mail being sent to this connector do I need to create a different rule for these or will they use the same connector by default even though it is enabled for CBR?
