Credentials not saved, backup dest. not accessible etc etc..
I'm trying to backup my Windows 7 laptop to an samba server (3.4.7). I've found when logging into the laptop, the network drive on the samba server isn't automatically restored. I'm forced, each time to re-enter my user and password to access the share. Why aren't my credentials saved? Also, even with the drive connected, Windows 7 Backup doesnt work. If I create a new backup location, the laptop will allow me to browse to the host, and access the share and even create a new folder on it, but if I then choose this folder as the backup destination, W7 Backup tells me that it's inaccessible. What's up?

Hi, Based on my experience, this should be caused by the Samba server. Please try to update it to latest version for a test. Also, you may try to disable SMBv2. Regarding the credentials, please open Credential Manager in Control Panel to manually create a saved credential for this shared drive. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
