Credential Manager Password Change Event on Windows 7 Enterprise
The NPPasswordChangeNotify function implemented in a credential manager DLL doesn't appear to get called on a computer a user is logging into if the password was changed somewhere else (i.e. reset in ADUC) before unlocking the session. The locked session can be unlocked with the new password; however, the change is never passed into the credential manager DLL NPPasswordChangeNotify function. In the MSDN documentaiton http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa378806(v=vs.85) there is comment in the remarks section that notes that this behavior is not supported beginning with Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. This works in windows XP. What is the inteded approach that should be used in Windows 7 to get notified of the password change? Thanks Ray.
