I always thought that the Operating system held Hierachy over third party software? or i always thought the operating system trumps software other than the operating system.

Honestly with as much issues as you are experiencing I would back up my data to an external and do a fresh OS install. It sounds as if more of the system is corrupted and the profile re-build was a bandaid in comparison. Most new machines come with a restore partition built in. I would not beat arround the bush and pull the trigger on an OS reinstall. As to McAfee it does not always locate malware. Its primary resposibility is to Virus detection. Granted updated databases include malware but running malwarebytes will ensure it.

I got frustrated and re-installed windows around 11:30 Am today and was frustrating but learning lessons sometimes are. before doing that i had done a Windows easy transfer, the problem i think that i am running into is that this is a transfer of a transfer of a transfer so on and so forth. of so many times now i cant remember. I had a trojen and who knows what else a year ago. I had asked a question in Microsoft Answers about; am i transfering the problems i had before via windows easy transfer? http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/windows-easy-transfer-configuration-settings/4434be6a-7120-4cdc-9bdc-c08e434ef3d7 Because i have ran into this problem before i am thinking about the last thing on my list of re-installs is going to be my windows easy transfer and create a restore point just before doing so. or not re-installing my Music, photos and documents (total Data loss) or if i can install one thing at a time to see what the problem is, Documents 1st, photos 2nd and then music and restore points between each. its been around 7 hours of re-installing things (2tb drive) and its gonna require more time to re-install more. I suppose i could try Malwarebytes.
