Created new registry key to hide the initial logon (with admin rights) and now cannot access via UAC to undo, can someone help please?
Hi, any suggestions would be grateful, have already researched possible fixes. Problem is most will not work due to only having created 2 regular user accounts on this new pc. Has windows home premium as well. Locked out of any changes in the registry as well involving admin rights of course. Cannot believe I cannot force a logon or bring up built in admin in the system. Also, if I upgraded this machine to Pro would that take care of this problem?

Hi, first fix: go into control panel > Administrative tools > right click on "system" and "run as administrator" expand local users and groups, expand users right click on administrator and enable the account, right click on this again and click reset password (reset the password_ this will enable the local administrator account, log off the machine by pressing "log off" while keeping the shift key held down (this prevents autologon running again) login as the local administrator by typing {PC name}\administrator and the password you gave it you should now be able to access the UAC however, I find it weird that you have managed to create 2 regular users without an administrator account, usually on windows 7, the administrator account is disabled but the account you create when setting up the machine is an administrator account. if the above fix doesnt work you can try the following: log off the current user who has logged in by pressing "log off" with the shift key held down (like it was previously stated, holding the shift key down will disable autologon from occurring) try logging in with the account you created this is in the form of {pc name}\{user name} this should have all the correct privelleges to access UAC, regedit etc.
