Couldn't Mount File: sorry there was a problem mounting the file

This morning I tried to mount an ISO image on my Windows 8 laptop. Something I've not done in a long time. I get the following error

In the System Event Log I see the three following message every time I try:

Event ID: 219 The driver \Driver\cdrom failed to load for the device SCSI\CdRom&Ven_Msft&Prod_Virtual_DVD-ROM\2&1f4adffe&0&000001.

When searching for a resolution all I find is the resolution of copying the files somewhere else to turn off the sparse flag That doesn't work either

C:\Users\P.J\Desktop>fsutil sparse queryflag SW_DVD5_Office_Professional_Plus_20
13_W32_English_MLF_X18-55138.iso
This file is NOT set as sparse

Found another solution where the user removed their SD card, but that didn't fix it for me

Next I noticed in Device manager that there were a lot of hidden unconnected devices under the DVD/CD-ROM devices section so I removed them ALL so no devices showed up whatsoever. I attempted to mount an ISO. Instantly I got the following view:

When I right click on the device with the yellow triangle and select properties this is what I see under the General tab

WHen searching for this specific error i find absolutely no help for resolution....

Rebooting does not fix this. WTF is the problem here...this is so irritating.
