Copying Files from one drive share to another
I have a situation with a windows 7 box that has several drives mounted C:/ and E:/ ..etc. I mount MY-PC on my windows machine or os x machine using samba. when I move files from C:/ to E:/ the copy process is very slow. it seems samba actually sends the file over the network from the windows 7 to the pc/mac on which it is mounted and back to the windows 7 machine. This only happens when there are different drives involved. however if i move files within the same drive it is fast as expected. Basically I just want to copy a file from my C:/ to my E:/ using my mac but it's taking forever. Is there any way around this?

How does it work when you try it on your Windows 7 machine? If it works fine that way, then this isn't an issue with Windows 7.
