Copy and Paste bug

Hi,

I upgraded my laptop to Windows 8.1. There is an annoying bug when I try to copy an paste a file into a folder, or when want to right click on a file or folder; Windows 8.1 stops working and a blue screen appears without doing what I wanted to do.

Windows 8.1 stops working and a blue screen appears without doing what I wanted to do.

Sounds like a "Frowny face" (aka STOP, BSOD)?   What code?

Such a symptom generally is a symptom of a hardware problem (or at least some kind of driver), so you need to identify the driver involved to get a better clue than whatever you are getting from your STOP event.  Also, check in the Event log (or perhaps the Reliability Monitor) to get more details more easily than trying to capture information by transcription.  However, I have never had a "Frowny face" STOP event to deal with so maybe there is something more that you could do with it than I imagine.  ; )

I agree with Robert.  Seems as if you have a hardware issue (driver, bad memory, etc.).  Being you did an upgrade, probably a driver issue.  It is for reasons like this I tend to always do clean loads.

Please, upload all the files included in the C:\Windows\Minidumps folder into a public folder on Skydrive and share the link here so we can see the Dump file.

Must be a hardware issue. I seem to be having no problem C&P.

Hi,

This should not be a bug, this should be an application crash, you can upload the dump file in forum so that we can analyze it for you, also, update the drivers for your computer is necessary in this situation.

Thanks everyone, it was a clean install and there was this problem before I installed other applications.

I also cannot find the Minidumps folder. I tried to enabled it but still the folder does not appear!
