Cooling fans constantly running
My computer is 15" Macbook Pro, 2.2 GHz dual boot laptop. I realize you guys probably don't want to support Apple products, but I've asked them and they think it's an operating system issue, therefore a Windows XP issue. Needless to say I'm running Windows XP home using bootcamp on an ntfs formatted partition. My problem is easy enough to explain: the cooling fans never turn off, or even cycle down very much while running windows, regardless of what I'm doing. Whether I'm signing on/switching users, web browsing, or running multiple cpu hogging applications, the funs are a runnin'. My question: is there a fix for this? If there is nothing immediately available to alleviate this issue, can someone please send a request to microsoft for some sort of effort on this front. Much obliged guys. Thank you1 person needs an answerI do too

Personally I wouldn't slow down the fan speed, nothing against ya coork, but I think that if the fan is always going theres might be a reason for it and I wouldn't want to chance the thing overheating. Sounds like it could be dirt or dust, but one question I have is if you have a dual boot, does this happen in both OS?? I can't say I know much about MACs but if its a win XP issue then it would only occur in the XP OS...

It only occurs in the XP OS. I've had the hard drive uprgraded as well as the keyboard and screen replaced, during which all the internals had been cleaned (I was told). Because this only happens while running XP, I'm convinced it's an XP issue. I don't want to run third party software to control fan speed. What I'd really like is for microsoft to address it in one of their updates. By the way, this is new behavior. I had Windows XP Pro loaded while in school. Upon leaving school I moved to a new copy of Windows XP Home. While in school, I never had the issue with the fans running constantly. It was only upon installing XP Home on the new harddrive that this issue came up. Thanks
