Convince Remote Assistance it's behind a NAT when it's the only one machine on the Lan.
Hi All Does anyone know how to convince vista's remote assistance, that it is behind a wireless NAT Lan, When it is the only machine connected. If my friend (requesting the help) sends an RA ticket with only the vista pc running, the RA ticket only contains his local IP address and the connection fails with User not responding, if he starts another pc (XP Pro), sends another RA ticket from the vista pc, the RA ticket contains both his local ip and internet ip and the connection to the vista pcsucceeds. if then shuts down the xp machine and resends an RA ticket, the RA connection again fails. I'm guessing it has some thing to do with network discovery, but not sure what.

Hi, This is most likely caused by the NAT server settings. What is NAT server? Additionally, please let us know if there are any other Windows XP computers, and if the issue does not occur when the other Windows XP computers open? You may try to forward the port 3389 to the Windows Vista computer in the NAT server. Then check if the issue still occurs. Also I suggest that meantime you disable the anti-virus and firewall on the Windows Vista computer. Hope it helps.
