Controller error and ideport
Hello, recently I have run into the following error: Log Name: System Source: atapi Event ID: 11 Level: Error Description: The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort6. Now, the error is not important as it has been taken care of. What I would like to ask you is, how do I found out what devices are connected to "\Device\Ide\IdePort6"? I checked some places in Device Manager under "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers". For example, the "ATA Channel 1" device has a 'Physical Device Object name' of \Device\Ide\PciIde0Channel1, yet I can't find \Device\Ide\IdePort6. I also checked the output of msinfo32 but I couldn't find anything. Thank you in advance.

Hi, \Device\Ide\IdePort6 can be the same as \Device\Ide\PciIde0Channel1 in Native SATA mode. The connected device can be an optical drive or a hard disk. Also, you can find a third party tool to check what device is connected to the Pci Ide Channels. Regards, Sabrina
