Context sensitive options
I have found at least one instance where it seems the programmers didn't really think about what would be used most. In the Network Connections control panel item it lists a number of options when you click on the Local Area Connection icon. Options such as, Disable this connection, Diagnose this connection, Rename this connection, View status of this connection. But the option I would use most you have to access by clicking the double arrow at the right side of the bar. Then I get to see the item I would use far more than any of these other options, Change Settings of this Connection. Why is that not one of the first items to show on the list? Further, there doesn't seem to be any way to re-order the display of these items. I ask you, how often are you going to rename a connection. I never have, but there it is,instead of something more useful. My point is, try to make to most commonly used options show up first, or, give us the option of choosing what we want to see. Let us customize things to our liking. In general I like Windows 7. There are definitely some changes to get used to. One thing I don't like is that is takes more steps, more clicks, to get to some options in Windows 7 than it did in XP. If this is supposed to be an improved easier to use OS then please don't make it harder to get to commonly used settings.
