Constantly getting errors when trying to install nearly ANY program on Windows XP and now 7
Hi guys, I am completely stumped with this one. Have had the PC for a while, been running XP on it but started getting error msgs/missing cab files/ corrupt file etc when trying to install various programs (games, Adobe reader etc). So i decided to upgrate to Windows 7. The install took me for ever, I kept getting error msgs such as can't read file/file missing. I tried everything, installed from windows DVD then USB then network. Nothing worked. I changed hardrives, DVD drives still nothing. I then removed all uncessary cards from my PC and it worked! I thought my problems were over but once I began to try and install programs onto my PC i realised they had only just begun. I tried instaling adobe reader and boom, same error, file corrupt etc (it was a fresh download from the net, and worked on another PC) and this went on for nearly every program I tried to install! HELP

Hi, First of all, please advise me what is the meaning of “I then removed all uncessary cards from my PC and it worked!”? What are the uncessary cards? Then I suggest to check the MD5 value of the software. Because sometimes the software downloaded from Internet may be corrupted. You may also check your hard disk. Otherwise, please temporarily disable your Anti-Virus software when you try to install them and delete all the TEMP files. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
