Connectivity flow for AV/Desktop/FileShare

Hi team,

Can you please explain me the flow of communication between clients that are in

  1. Internal and Internal
  2. Internal and External
  3. External and External

For the below scenarios?

  • Audio/Video
  • Application/Desktop Sharing
  • File Transfer

Thank you.
Chris.

Hi

1) Internal and Internal direct client to client or peer to peer for all scenarios

2) Internal and External the initial setup SIP etc will go via Internal Client > Front End > Edge > External User, but then the media should flow direct between the clients same as P2P

3) External and External the initial setup SIP etc will go via External Client > Edge > Front End > Edge > External User, but then the media should flow direct between the clients same as P2P

thanks

I'll add that if the clients cannot directly communicate in any of the internal/internal, etc. scenarios the media may flow through the edge.  SIP signaling will always flow through front end, and then to mediation or edge if necessary.  Media destined to PSTN will flow through mediation server generally to be transcoded to G.711, unless media bypass is enabled.
