Connection problems on Home Network Windows 7 to Win XP Computer.
I use a laptop running XP SP3 as a server for my squeezebox 3. It's connected to my home network via 85mps homeplugs and works fine. However, my Win 7 (64 bit) desktop can't see it on the network. Any help offered would be much appreciated as I'd like to transfer new music to the laptop via the network frpm my desktop.

Hi, To troubleshoot the issue, please perform the following setps. 1. Temporarily disable firewall on each machine. 2. Install the Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) Responder package from the link below: Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) Responder package 3. Assure the following services are started: Computer Browser, Server, Workstation 4. Write down the IP address for Windows XP. Click Start button in Windows 7 and type \\IP address for Windows XP, and then press enter. Can you access the Windows XP computer now? 5. Modify relevant settings on Windows 7 machine. a. Click Start and open Control Panel. b. Open "Network and Sharing Center" and click "Advanced sharing settings". c. Expand the current network profile (such as "Home or Work"), and then select the following options: "Turn on Network Discovery", "Turn on file and printer sharing", "Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in the Public folders", "Turn off password protected sharing" Thanks, Novak
