Connection over slow network froze Vista machines
Hello, I have machines connected to the office network over appliance VPN. Users have offline mapped folders for all their settings. Server is 2003 SP2. Users experienced really slow reactions from the machine. Vista is wasting bandwith tchating with the server, querying file info, DFS stuff (we don't have DFS activated) and so on... I tried to let Vista detect slow network for offline folder (BTW when you want to combine LAtency and Throughput it looks like it doesn't work). Tweaking latency, Vista is more or less detecting the network type. The problem is that even with correct offline folder detection, opening a local file, starting a program : working with the computer is really hard... I tried the settings from performance team : no success. As someone an idea to "boost" network stuff ? Regards, PleKy
