Connection interruptions
I am also having intermittent networkconnectivity issues. I have a Vista PC running on the same router and do not see the problem repicated so I don't belive it is due to the router. I have tried running both static and dynamic IP addresses on the NIC, but it doesn't seem to be relevant to this case. I have run a continuous ping to my default gateway which is the router (Not the modem) and see that eventually my Pings timeout. Sometimes the self repair tool fixes the problem but oftentimes I have to disable then re-enable my network adaptor. Last time I disabled the network adapter it disapeared from my list of network devices completely and I had to restore to a backup point earlier in the day.

Try uninstalling the driver from device manager and then see if Windows updates it for you.
