Connection dropping off
I am having problems with my wireless connection and LAN Card I can connect, but when I ping the router it eventually drops off, then it somes back on then it drops off. Eventually it will connect and stay connected. My wired connection will never identify the network. I ahve fixed teh registry and still have the problem. Is anyone else having this probem. It is a real pain. Bryan

Hi, Does this issue occurred from the beginning, or it started to occur recently? Based on my understanding, you have read the following article and follow the suggestion. Is it correct? Windows Vista cannot obtain an IP address from certain routers or from certain non-Microsoft DHCP servers http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233/en-us If the issue occurred since you installed Windows Vista, the router may be compatible with Windows Vista. I suggest that you connect via the wired connection in Safe Mode with Networking. If the connection is still not established, I suggest that you manually assign IP address and Default Gateway for the Local Area Connection. If the issue still occurs, I suggest that you install Windows Vista SP1. Information about Windows Vista Service Pack 1 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936330/en-us If the issue persists after you install SP1, please contact the manufacturer of the router to check if the router is compatible with Windows Vista, or if you need to adjust some router settings. Hope it helps.
