Connection Problem with Gateway
Hello, I've recently purchased 10 Dell Vostro 230, with Windows 7 Pro and have deployed them throughout the office. I've noticed that when connecting to the internet from certain places in the office I do not have internet access. The PC is connected to the wall jack which is in turn connected to the patchbay in the network closet. From there to a Cisco router. Here's some observations I've made: 1. The windows XP box previously connected to the same jack on the wall has no issues. 2. PC has access to local network resources, DNS, RDP Servers, SQL Server, etc... 3. PC has very bad connection to Default Gateway, losing about 30% of the packets transmitted. DNS is operating correctly. 4. Other Windows 7 PCs connected to the same wall jack exhibit the same problem (poor connection to Gateway) 5. Same PCs connected to other network jacks operate fine. Please note I've tried moving this wall connection to a different port on the router with no changes to the status. Hi, Before going any further, I would like to verify did this issue occur with all Windows 7 machine? Did this issue appear with other Windows system? Please try to login with Clean Boot or Safe Mode with networking to see if the same issue occurs. Also you can try to connect Windows 7 by passing the router for test. If the problem persists, it’s a possible the problem related with your server or the router, I suggest asking Windows Server forum for further help: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windowsserver The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Thank you for your understanding.
