What exactly does that mean "only goes halfway"? Does it connect to the DLink router? Is the router plugged into your Internet connection?-B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook

Exactly, when I say that the connection only goes halfway through, I mean that the conection only reaches the middle of the path to the D-Link DIR-625 Wireless Router. I need my laptop to be connected wirelessly to the Internet. Can You go to http://www.dlink.com/support to find a solution to the problem?, or should I use Windows 7, which I think will connect more easily.

What kind of Internet connection do you have? Cable modem? DSL? Something else? Do you have a static or dynamic IP address from your Internet provider?Do you have any other machines that can connect to the Internet thru that router?-B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook

I have a wireless boardband router, and I enter all the correct information, but in Windows XP, half of the connection steps are succesful, but half of the connection steps fail.

I have a wireless boardband router, and I enter all the correct information, but in Windows XP, half of the connection steps are succesful, but half of the connection steps fail. Can you ping your router by IP address? Which half of the steps are failing? I assume that you mean that Windows says you are successfully connecting to the router but not able to get to the Internet? Do you have any other computers on this network that can successfully connect? Can you plug into that router with a cable from your computer and successfully connect to the Internet?-B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook
