Connecting to a networked folder with a different username...
I have Windows 7 Home Premium...
I'm trying to access files on my Mac, using SMB, which I already setup properly on the Mac. When I double click on the Mac in Windows Explorer, it automatically logs me in as guest and the only share I see is the public one. I'd like to be able to give the
username and password of my Mac account so I can access those file, but I see no option to connect as another user. How can this be done?
Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for the post!
I suspect there could be some Local Security Policy settings cause this issue. Please do the following:
1. Click Start, input secpol.msc, run as administrator.
2. Navigate to Security Settings – Local Policies – Security Options
3. In the right panel, find “Network Security: LAN Manager Authentication Level”, double-click it. Change the setting to: “Send
LM&NTLM – use NTLMv2 session if negotiated”
4. Find “Network Security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) clients ”, uncheck the “Require
128-bit encryption” box. Then click OK.
Reboot to see if the sharing works. More information is:
