Connecting to a NAS - Error 1208
I am trying to connect my freecom NAS to a desktop with Windows 7. I require it to back up my data. When I try to map the drive I am given an error witht eh number 1208. I have tried the solution shown below, but it will still not work. Has any one any other ideas? I have also tried to set up an FTP, this works, but I cannot get access to the drive to allow me to back up my data. In Windows 7, please try the following: 1. Open Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\ 2. Create LMCompatibilityLevel (DWord) and set the value to 1 For more information, please also refer to: LmCompatibilityLevel

Have you tried to modify the Registry to change the NTLM authentication level? You can also try: 1. Open gpedit.msc from Start Search box. 2. Locate to: Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\Network security: LAN Manager authentication level 3. Change the value to “Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated”.Arthur Xie - MSFT
