Connecting to a IPP-enabled Laserjet using Windows 7
I can successfully connect and submit print jobs to a IPP-enabled Laserjet printer I have setup at home by using Windows XP Pro. The printer is not hosted by a server, rather it is connected directly to my network and on my ISP's router I have port-forwarded TCP and UDP port 631 to point to the private IP of the printer. I cannot make this work and connect to this pritner using a Windows 7 client. In Windows XP I use Add Printer > Network Printer > "Connect to a printer on the internet..." > http://public_IP:631/printer_hostname But there is no "Connect to a printer on the internet..." option in Windows 7. What is the correct syntax to connect to this IPP printer using Windows 7? Thanks! Grant

Turns out the issue wasn't exactly as i stated above. The problem is when I use a Server 2008 R2 (actually it's a Windows SBS 2011 server) to try and connect to the printer. I just tested a regular Windows 7 Pro client and it worked fine. Not as big of an issue now, though. So this question can be closed as I've solved it already.
