My computer has no problem connecting to my own wireless router, internet works great. However, when I try to access wireless connections at my parents house my computer gives me an error. It states, "Windows unable to connect to this connection" But my strength is high. It also won't give me the option to enter a security key of any kind to even try to connect.....any ideas???1 person needs an answerI do too

What version of Windows XP do you have? What type of security is selected on the wireless router? If the router uses WPA2 security, it was not supported in Windows XP until SP3. If you don't have SP3, this may be the reason. Also, some wireless routers have a MAC address filter that will only accept connections from a list of pre-entered MAC addresses. Try connecting to your parent's wireless router's configuration page and temporarily turn off wireless security and see if you can then connect. Also check to see if MAC filtering is in effect.HTH, JW
