So the scenario is I have my home PC which is running Windows 8.1 Pro and has a Microsoft Dynamics AX demo VM running on it.
Now what I would like to do is connect to that VM from my laptop which is also running Windows 8.1 Pro.
Both machines are on the same home workgroup however I am unable to connect to the main pc from the laptop.
I have been through various scenarios of setting up Server Manager but it would appear this only works if you are trying to connect to a machine running windows server not windows 8.1 eg http://blogs.msdn.com/b/virtual_pc_guy/archive/2010/11/11/configuring-remote-management-of-hyper-v-server-in-a-workgroup.aspx
I am unable to run the VM on my laptop directly as the machine is not powerful enough. If I try to use virtual amchine connection I get the error "you do not have the required permission to complete this task. Contact the administrator of the authorization policy for the computer '######'"
Can anyone confirm if this is possible or not?
Thanks
