Connecting Window Vista to Windows 7 and vice versa
Keeps asking me for a user name and a password - What is that? Where do I find it? I don't have passwords set on either machine - although I know how to do that - but where do you find this user name if is not simply the mane of the computer? HELP!

Hi, Can you give a more detailed explanation of what you mean by "connecting" Vista to Windows 7? Also, run this command on both machines and give the output. "cmd /c echo %USERNAME% > connecting.txt & echo %COMPUTERNAME% >> connecting.txt & connecting.txt & del connecting.txt" Thanks, John

Hi Do you means "Home Sharing". If it is, you can access "Network and Sharing Center" from control panel. Click "choose homegroup and sharing options", then you can change or set a new home sharing password. Hope this helps.

Hi, I recommend you try to disable the password-protected sharing and enable the guest user account. Disable the password-protected sharing: 1. Open Control Panel in the Start Menu. 2. Open Network and Sharing Center in the Control Panel. 3. Select Change advanced sharing settings in the left column of the Network and Sharing Center. 4. Expand the network you want to disable password protected sharing on by clicking the down arrow on the right of the profile. 5. Select Turn off password protected sharing and then click Save changes. Hope it can help you! Best Regards, Miya Yao
