Connect XP to internet through Vista
I'm having a problem, and that is that Vista wont let my XP connect to internet....I've got 2 network-cards on my Vista:1. Connects to internett2. Connects to the other computerI've got 1 network-card on my XP:1.Connects to the internet through the network ( my Vista / usually XP )So basically I don't have any router, so I connect the other computer to the internet through my other computer. It's supposed to work, it definitely work with XP,but when I use Vista it doesn't...Vista detects the other computer, and I can browse my files, and I can alsobrowse my Vista-computer with my XP....Vista tells my that the second computer is "local only"!Is there any way to svolve this problem?

Hi everyone. I have the same configuration as you, 1 "server" with 2NICs with vista, and one notebook connected to it with XP. (Before i had both pcs with XP and it's working just perfect!!!) to share internet from one pc to otheri used ICS (internet connection sharing) and it works BUT.... (there is allways a BUT) sometimes doesnt work.... :o( Yeah it is pretty sad to said that. Sometimes can connect to internet with my portable and sometimes i cannot (using WLM and IE)only works remote desktop. itried turning on/off the firewall from vista, and xp and it's not the problemthen i tried to change the services allowed to use in the ICS tab in vista and is also did not function. someone has a fix to it? thanks,

Have you tried forwarding the internet service as a proxy on the 'server' and then connecting via the proxy on the Xp machine ? Just an idea for a workaround.

I also have this problem with my Vista "server" and my XP notebook. Have you found a way to share the internet through the "server" yet?
