My commonsense.exe says no, seeing as MS patched that vulnerability back in October '08.Commonsense.ex also reports that it would be unseemly to releaes a new (albeit beta, yes; but...) OS that contains a vulnerability that has been patched already for the 'production' OSes.MS08-067 does state this:"Is the Windows 7 Pre-Beta release affected by this vulnerability?Yes. This vulnerability was reported after the release of Windows 7 Pre-Beta. Customers running Windows 7 Pre-Beta are encouraged to download and apply the update to their systems. On Windows 7 Pre-Beta systems, the vulnerable code path is only accessible to authenticated users. This vulnerability is not liable to be triggered if the attacker is not authenticated, and therefore would be rated Important.""Pre-beta", however, (AFAIK) refers to builds prior to 7000 (the public beta.)Just my $0.02,Chris[If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message. Hi,I second chris's tuppence. Conflicker is not something recent, and has its evolution been followed closely by anti-virus editors. If your anti-virus is up to date, and your firewall activated, and you're not stupid, you shouldn't have any problems.RegardsRem

No real mystery there... A file can be deposited on your computer with malware in it, but the malware can be inactive because the mechanism through which it spreads to other computers was rendered unviable. Or the system could have been upgraded with the file already in place. Probably says that you should put some attention into the other computers on your network, though. And to help with your further research, the proper name is "Conficker", not "Conflicker" (note the missing lower case L). Lots more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conficker -Noel
