Computer with Windows XP keeps freezing
My computer (with Windows XP) keeps freezing. I cleaned up the HD and ran malware software, but it keeps freezing. I read somewhere in the Internet that it could be caused by the Windows registry being full of unused files, but other forums seem to advice against it. It doesn't matter which program I'm using, there could be 1 or several of them open, it still freezes and my only option is pushing the power button (nothing else works). I noticed that both the processor and the fans work heavily when this happens (making a lot of noise). The vents for the fans are clean and the CPU seems to be at a normal temperature (not overheating). My system specs are: - Windows XP, Media Center Edition 2000, SP3 - Processor: Intel Pentium D - CPU 2.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM Is there any advice as to what to do to avoid this from happening? 1 person needs an answerI do too
