Computer problems after install of updates?
On 11/8 I installed recommended updates to my computer - since then, I have had problems with my computer repeatedly freezing up or being unresponsive. Since this started happening right after the install, I am wondering if it could be related to the updates? The udates that were installed are listed below. When the computer freezes, it might freeze during a task with the "busy" circle showing the computer is working on something, or it just might become unresponsive - on my desktop for example I might be able to move my mouse over something, but the items are totally unresponsive (don't respond to the mouse hovering over them, etc) - including toolbars - and I can't restart the computer because the start menu button on the toolbar is also unresponsive. I have to turn the computer off, and when I turn it back on I sometimes get a black screen with writting saying it needs to check my computer because it found something with a disk - listing it as a NTIS and an OS disk or file that needs checked (or something like that). Any ideas???
