I'm having trouble correcting problems with my computer. It's like it's locked me out. I can't restore it, I almost all the time have to shut it down, to get back on line. I tried scanning for viruses and quarantining them, and get rid of them, but nothing is fixing the problem. I have been getting a mallware warning, and I try to get rid of them. I don't know if they have something to do with this problem or not. Can anyone help? I have AVG anti virus protection.Windows XP Professional-2002 Edition, Service pack 3, Internet Explorer 8.0, I have the 2011 Free AVG Edition- anti-virus and anti-spyware. Just added, after trouble started, AVG Tune-Up 2011. When I tried to update, get a download, it said I needed. After I downloaded it, error message said, I already had it. When I tried to go to help and support or to restore my computer, error messages came up, saying I would have to start them up, to use them. I never had start them up, to use them before.
