Computer not working correctly, possible malware issue
I'm having trouble correcting problems with my computer. It's like it's locked me out. I can't restore it, I almost all the time have to shut it down, to get back on line. I tried scanning for viruses and quarantining them, and get rid of them, but nothing is fixing the problem. I have been getting a mallware warning, and I try to get rid of them. I don't know if they have something to do with this problem or not. Can anyone help? I have AVG anti virus protection.Windows XP Professional-2002 Edition, Service pack 3, Internet Explorer 8.0, I have the 2011 Free AVG Edition- anti-virus and anti-spyware. Just added, after trouble started, AVG Tune-Up 2011. When I tried to update, get a download, it said I needed. After I downloaded it, error message said, I already had it. When I tried to go to help and support or to restore my computer, error messages came up, saying I would have to start them up, to use them. I never had start them up, to use them before. I can't even get to screen, to get in safe mode, to try to fix things. Thanks,Tim O'Bryan *original title - My computer is acting up, suddenly, this week. Won't let me do things I used to and should be able to do, to correct problems.*

When I try to install update, it says this: "Setup Error has detected that the service pack version of this system is newer than the update you are applying. There is no ned to install this update." Something else that pops up, when losing my internet connection is: "Generic hostprocess for Win.32 services encountered a problem and needed to close." The update I tried to download, was: WindowsXP- KP927891-v3-x86-ENU.exe .Thanks,Tim O'Bryan
