Dell d610 LaptopComputer is locking/freezing up when shutting down...Sometimes it will freeze whenever... Only way to restart is to push power button to force it to close,then restarting...1 person needs an answerI do too

You probably have a task or software that is unresponsive..One really should find out which program is causing the problem ( maybe event viewer would be a start),otherwise a fix would be,go to run,type: regedit In regedit,expand: HKEY_LOCAL_USER\ControlPanel open Desktop,locate & L.click on AutoEndTasks Go to edit,modify,change from 0 to 1 Exit out of regedit.
