Computer has suddenly starting resetting Power Options to a bogus setting on restart. I keep changing settings back and entering as accept but on restart bogus setting return.
Have been using Windows XP for years. System is maintained and drivers are kept up to date as well as Windows updates.1 person got this answerI do too

Try setting the settings and then log off. Sometimes your setting/ Desktop items don't stick. Try that and see what that does.Please rate me up if you find my post helpful.

Reply: This started when there was a power outage and my computer shut down on with the UPS. I used
"Powercfg/RestoreDefaultPolicies" and that took care of the problem.
