I have a 3yo HP laptop (windows xp) that was freezing up after about an hour's use of Pandora on firefox (sounded like it was running constantly the entire time). It progressively got worse (more frequent, and shorter periods of time) and started freezing up with internet explorer as well, even with no pandora. Now I cannot use the computer for more than 10 mins before it freezes. Freezing = no key functions and a repeated scatter of the same pixels across the screen. I'm a bit computer-illiterate, can someone tell me if it is a potential hardware or software issue and if there is anything I can do to fix it? I have a feeling if I try to reformat it's not going to get anywhere before it freezes up again.Thanks in advance!1 person got this answerI do too

I tried a system restore twice and it tells me it cannot complete it. (Tried mid and late July).Ran full av scan, all is in working order.Did a disk defrag and a C: drive clean up, the problem is still occurring. Any other ideas? Thanks for your help,
